A musical penned by George Galloway could soon be making its way to the West End.
The former politician revealed on his Daily Record blog this week that he has joined forces with a writer friend to create a musical dedicated to the work of Dusty Springfield.
"It's always been banging around as an idea between us," he commented, adding that she is "as fresh today as a spring field should be".
The fledgling production has the working title of 'Dusty' and it is thought that it may be similar in style to Mamma Mia!.
Interestingly, a musical featuring Dusty Springfield songs like Son of a Preacher Man and You Don't Have to Say You Love Me is already a hit in Australia.
Should Galloway's musical make it to a London theatre, the Dragons' Den entrepreneurs may be kicking themselves - as the Independent points out, a would-be producer proposed a similar musical on the show last year but was turned down.
