A theatre critic has said that hit musical Blood Brothers is as good as ever, despite it having been showing in the West End for nearly 30 years.
Writing for the Western Mail, Karen Price said the way it looks at the ancient dilemma of nature versus nurture is "relevant, poignant and enjoyable".
Blood Brothers tells the story of Mrs Johnstone, a Liverpudlian who finds herself pregnant with twins.
Unable to afford to keep both of them, she gives one up for adoption and he ends up living a privileged life with a rich couple.
However, when he meets up with his brother years later, events take a shattering turn.
"While there may be tragedy, there are also plenty of moments of light relief and some great tunes to boot," Ms Price commented.
Mathew Jenkin of the News Shopper recently recommended Blood Brothers as a "crowd-pleasing soap opera" which is sure to thrill audiences.
The musical is currently booking at the Phoenix Theatre until November 27th 2010.
