Love Never Dies to be given short hiatus?
Love Never Dies may get a break this autumn so it can return bigger and better.
Wednesday, 9 June 2010
It has been rumoured that West End musical Love Never Dies may be given a short hiatus so that slight changes can be made to the show.
Broadway World reported earlier this week that Andrew Lloyd Webber has been tweaking the musical, currently showing at the Adelphi Theatre, in order to make it tally even closer with his original imaginings of how it should look.
Now, WhatsonStage.com has said that there may be a short break after the end of its current booking period - October 23rd 2010 - so that any disruptions caused by further changes will be minimal.
However, this has not yet been confirmed, so London theatre fans may wish to keep their eyes peeled for more news as it emerges.
Meg Giry's big song Bathing Beauty was recently extended to improve the production, while the song Heaven by the Sea was cut out in response to critical feedback.
Love Never Dies is not the only musical to undergo changes of late. Avenue Q has also been tweaked subtly to reflect the death of Gary Coleman, who appears as a puppet in the show and who passed away last week.
