Love Never Dies 'lets us see the human side of the Phantom characters'
Love Never Dies is the perfect follow-up to Phantom, one of its actors has said.
Tuesday, 1 June 2010

Love Never Dies has been recommended to Phantom of the Opera fans who want to explore the characters in a more in-depth fashion.

Speaking to Claudia Winkleman on BBC Radio 2's The Arts Show, Ramin Karimloo - who plays the opera ghost - said the new musical is an extension of the journey which was started ten years ago from a plot point of view.

Although he admitted that it was a big task for Andrew Lloyd Webber to follow up Phantom, especially after it was so successful, Karimloo he thinks Love Never Dies is great and really interesting.

"I love the idea that the only thing constant is change and if love never dies then change is only possible with love - and love is only way to resurrect the human soul," he commented.

The Canadian actor admitted that it can be hard to perform in the West End eight shows a week - especially when his make-up and mask hurt to take off - but said he thinks it is the most biggest, fulfilling thing he will ever do in his career.

Shortly after Love Never Dies opened at the Adelphi Theatre in March 2010, Ray Bennett of the Hollywood Reporter said he found it to be every bit as good as its predecessor, Phantom of the Opera.
