Ray Quinn has had a successful showbiz career since competing in the X Factor and this looks set to continue in Dirty Dancing.
The 21-year-old performer is to head to the Aldwych Theatre in late July to play Billy in the classic story, according to Daily Mail theatre columnist Baz Bamigboye.
Billy is the character who helps Baby and Johnny rehearse their famous dance steps before their competition, so it is a significant role for Quinn.
However, he already has experience in the West End, having recently played Doody in Grease at the Piccadilly Theatre.
Quinn also won a series of the celebrity reality TV show Dancing on Ice.
Dirty Dancing broke records in the UK for the highest advance ticket sales, having sold out for the first six months before it even opened.
Described as "the biggest live theatre sensation of all time" by Polly Vernon of the Observer, it currently stars Hannah Vassallo as Baby and Martin Harvey as Johnny.
