A move to Chicago in the West End is next for former EastEnder Emma Barton.
Friday, 9 April 2010
It will be a case of east meeting west soon for Emma Barton, who is to join the cast of Chicago later this month.
The actress, who may be more familiar to TV viewers as Honey from EastEnders, is to make the move to the West End in order to play Roxie Hart in the hit musical from April 26th 2010.
She will replace Ruthie Henshall, who is to return to Broadway to play the would-be jazz singer turned bad girl.
Vivien Carter will also join the cast at the Cambridge Theatre as Velma Kelly, taking over from Anna-Jane Casey, while Terence Maynard and Adam Stafford will continue to play Billy Flynn and Amos Hart respectively.
Barton is no stranger to the stage, having recently appeared in both Grease and the touring version of Chicago.
The longest-running West End musical after Les Miserables, The Phantom of the Opera and Blood Brothers, Chicago opened at the Cambridge Theatre in 2006 after having transferred from the Adelphi Theatre.
