Friday, 5 March 2010
Four new cast members are to take over from the current company starring in The 39 Steps next month, it has been announced.
Natalie Walter, John Hopkins, Stephen Critchlow and Stephen Ventura are to leave the popular play, while Dianne Pilkington, David Bark-Jones, Timothy Speyer and Jeremy Swift will step into their shoes on April 26th 2010.
Pilkington is currently starring in the hit musical Wicked and also has a string of other theatrical credits under her belt, including a West End appearance in Cats.
The play is sure to be challenging for the new company, as they have to play more than 139 roles between the four of them.
A spoof of the Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name, The 39 Steps features all of the movie's scenes, but with added comedic value.
It tells the story of a man named Richard, who goes on the run after being accused of a dastardly murder and finds himself involved in cross-country espionage.
